The Journal of Open Educational Resources in Higher Education, Volume Two Release

The Journal of Open Educational Resources in Higher Education, (JOERHE) is a diamond open-access journal, that publishes once a year and offers librarians, instructors and other OER experts a platform for their scholarship on OER, open pedagogy, open access and similar topics focused specifically within the context of higher education. Published annually, the second volume is available as of October 16th here.

In addition to the Columns, OER Reviews, and Articles that are a staple of JOERHE, the second volume adds a new category – Innovative Practices. This new section is dedicated to short-form, practical, applicable, case study-type articles that are not as heavily research-based and provide a description of a practice, innovation, or program that is replicable and/or useful for individuals in higher education who are engaged in Open Pedagogy, Open Data and/or Open Educational Resources.

We at OER & Beyond want to recognize and celebrate the work of our colleagues at JOERHE as well as the Contributors, Peer Reviewers, and Editorial Advisory Board!

JOERHE welcomes quantitative and qualitative research articles and discussion pieces concerning OER in higher education. Authors are encouraged to discuss the practical applications of their knowledge and findings, propose best practices, discuss theoretical models and frameworks, and describe their programmatic and practical experiences.

The next call for papers will open in early 2024. For full submission details, the general publishing timeline, or questions, visit JOERHE’s website at https://journals.uwyo.edu/index.php/joerhe/about/submissions.ut/submissions.
