We at the OER & Beyond Blog is excited to announce that our long-time Co-Editor, Sabrina Davis, has transitioned into a new role as an Associate Editor for articles at the Journal of Open Educational Resources in Higher Education! As Sabrina has moved into this new role, I have joined the OER & Beyond Blog as the newest Co-Editor.

I am the Open Educational Resources (OER) Librarian at Texas State University (TXST). I graduated from Mays Business School at Texas A&M College Station with a bachelor’s in Business Administration, focusing in Management, and also received a minor in Art and a minor in Urban & Regional Planning. In the typical fashion of someone who can’t do only one thing at a time I was involved in a variety of additional activities including the the Honors Living Learning Community (now in a different format and a part of the LAUNCH division), Residential Housing Association, Memorial Student Center Visual Arts Committee (with two years of the that time focused on The Aggie Frame of Mind), AggieCon, and Student Bonfire. After graduation, I went on to work for the same business school at the Houston location. While at Mays Business School at City Centre, I enjoyed supporting MBA students, and guests, as they pursued their advanced degrees – and soon after I followed suit. I received my Masters of Science in Information Studies from the iSchool at the University of Texas at Austin in 2022, with a portfolio in Museum Studies and a concentration in Preservation and Conservation. My capstone focused on a longitudinal analysis of survey information related to a university level course. While at UT, she was also a Teaching Assistant in the Classics department and was able to work on a grant project focusing on the Battle Cast Collection

My interests are varied, and range from knowledge management to sustainable information infrastructure design, and connecting individuals with resources for their success. In my role so far, I have facilitated partnerships between OpenStax and her institution, advocated for Open Scholarship as a practice for the library and academic community, and created an internal OER finding app for navigating OER referatories, repositories, and sites that will soon be available to the public in a modified format.

I also delight in providing book recommendations – the more challenging the request the more delightful!
